Men is men, women is women

I heard something on the radio this week that got me thinking. There was an article in the Boston Globe the other day about a business that wanted to have a "Gentleman's Only" night at their restaurant and N.O.W. and the ACLU both objected to it saying it was discrimination.

Why is it discrimination when men want to have a men's only club but not when women want the same? Can I join Curves? I think not. Honestly ladies, and yes I even include you from NOW who maybe on the fence if you know what I mean, do you really want to hang around with a bunch of men who are going to be drinking and swearing and burping and passing gas? Is that really your idea of a good time? You won't find me wanting to go to a Tupperware party or a Mary Kay event. Not interested in the least (now Naughty Nightie might pique my interest some).

It's not that I am not for equality among all, I certainly am, but why does everything we do have to become so homogenized? Well, at least when it comes to women thinking they aren't being included? I think women should be paid the same as a man, I don't believe a woman's place is in the home, they should be allowed all the same opportunities as men in the work place, but they don't need to be included in everything, just as men don't need to be included in everything a woman does.

I don't know, maybe it's me, but men need men time and women need women time, because once we lose this, we all become the same, and I am sorry I like the differences between men and women. But the maybe I'm just a pig.
