Every once in awhile I wake up in a reflecting mood. Of course waking up in any kind of a mood is better than the alternative, although I suppose that can be debated as well.

This Week's Musings
After spending 24 hours on the road, I thought I would take a little time to share just some of the things which ran through my mind. That much time on the road tends to give a certain perspective on things.

Battening Down the Hatches
So far Buttons the Wonder Dog, the cats and I have weathered the storm. We still have power, the house was shaken but not stirred, and so far all is good.

Red Dawn Over Baltimore
There was an absolute gorgeous dawn in Baltimore today. I had an overnight run to Richmond and caught the dawn on the way back.

You Can Go Home Again
Someone once said "You can't go home again", but I disagree, you can go home again, it just isn't the same as when it was home.

What Was I Thinking
As I complete my third week of being unemployed I have come toone conclusion, it isn't all it is cracked up to be. What was I thinking?

Will Work For Food
Week 2 of my unemployment has begun and while I think it was the right thing to do I am not sure it was the right time. There are not a lot of jobs
out there for a fifty something year-old with a bad back.

What Was I Thinking
It's day two of my newest journey, well day four if you count the weekend and I have spent a whole bunch of time writing. The question remains as to whether or not I will make enough to keep the women I love from bolting on me.

I'm Back
I realize it has been awhile since I've been keeping up with this blog, but I think you'll be seeing more here from now on. You see, I did something either very good or very bad.

For The Love of The Open Road
Yesterday I took the three girls for a long ride and realized I sure do miss being out on the road. Oh, I’m still on the road sort of, but not like I used to be. To me the road is trips of at least two or more hours in length. I get very few of those lately.

Easter Sunday 2012
Have you noticed I tend to write in this blog every holiday? I guess it has to do with the fact holidays are a time of remembrance. Who knows.

Maybe There is Something to This God Thing
I’m starting to think there is something to this whole God thing. I admit I have always been skeptical about things and maybe I am just hoping there really is a God and all, which is causing me to read things into events which aren’t there, but when does something become real and not a coincidence?

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon
Here it is a Sunday afternoon, the sun is shining, the grass is brown, which is way better than white, and the ice that never came is almost gone. All and all it is been a nice quiet, mild winter. Life is good, mostly.

With Age Comes Wisdom
After the birth of my fourth Grandchild on Thanksgiving Day, I have been thinking a lot about something I learned a long time ago: "As you get older, your parents get smarter." I suppose this goes for grandparents as well. The problem with grandparents however, is when you are ready to learn from them, they may be gone.

Another Life Lesson from God
It's interesting how I have finally come to a point in my life where I realize there is much more to life than just "things" and "stuff". Maybe becasue for so long I haven't had much of anything, and i won't even claim it isn't my fault, but I have realized other things are more important.

My dysfunctional family
Today I thought i would write about my dysfunctional family, of pets that is. I guess this is what happens when you acquire other peoples pets when they decide they don't want them or because of other reasons more sinister.

Reaping what we sow
For the first 55 years of my life I never did much in the way of Bible reading or studying, but for the last six months or so, I have begun to do just that. Basically I have been searching for answers to life's most puzzling questions. Now I admit, not everyone believes in the Bible, or even God and it is not my intention to convert anyone, it's just that, the more I read, the more I find what the Bible teaches us is true.

Farewell to a radio legend
The Boston area lost a legend this week with the passing of
Larry Glick, 87, known to most New Englanders for being the late night voice on
WBZ-AM radio. He was the guy you listened to when you couldn’t sleep or for
those who worked the midnight shift.

Be thankful for what you have
The other day as I sat behind the dirty windshield I happened to go by the "Occupy Worcester" bunch. Now this group is fairly small and have been tucked away into a corner of a park on the outskirts of the city, so I couldn't get a good look at them. But I have seen pictures and the like of some of the participants in the other groups. No, this is one of those political rants, that is in my other blog It's Clear As Mud instead it's about...

I always think there's a band
I admit I am a fan of old Broadway musicals and movies. My favorite has to be "The Music Man", the move came out in 1962. No matter how many times I watch it there is always something I see for the first time, or a line in it which makes me think about something a different about life. My favorite line in this one...
